Another great meal from Jamie's 30-Minute Meals and it took the usual 45 minutes even though I didn't cook the dessert. But I did make individual pies because they are so much prettier and I also put pastry on the bases and pre-cooked it a little. Jamie's pie had no base, which didn't feel quite right. I love being able to remove the pies intact from the dishes - they are so much easier to eat. Dario is not keen on peas but he liked these so that's saying something about the flavours in this dish. Another winner. Moroccan Lamb Chops, Herby Couscous & Stuffed Peppers
I did it! I made this one of Jamie's 30-Minute Meals in 30 minutes. I cut out the drink but that should have taken all of 5 minutes so I believe I can pat myself on my back. Or Jamie can for having created at least one 30-minute meal. I do suspect that the wine I had at work might have loosened up my cooking muscles and made me relax because there were a lot of elements to this meal but none of them were complex. And once again it was delicious. The two sauces were a perfect accompaniment to the couscous and lamb. Jamie Oliver is a genius at flavours and I can recommend this as a meal which will be well received by all the family. Middle Eastern Prawn Salad – dinner in under 30 minutes
Tonight I managed dinner in under 30 minutes but no, it wasn't one of Jamie Oliver's, I am sorry to say. This was super simple for a change. I didn't feel like I was tying myself in knots trying to beat some kind of record. But I will go back to Jamie Oliver because it is a challenge and his food is truly delicious. The man knows his flavours. This recipe is not low Fodmap. Pregnant Jools’s Pasta and Chicory & Watercress Salad – Jamie Oliver 30-Minute Meals
Tonight felt like a triumph because I cooked one of Jamie's 30-Minute Meals in exactly 30 minutes, but of course that wouldn't be telling the complete truth because I didn't make the frangipane tarts for dessert. And who knows how long they would have taken to prepare and bake. But at least we didn't eat quite as late as usual. This pasta dish is kind of a quick version of a ragu. It all basically went into the food processor and came out all mushed up and then went into a frying pan with a few other ingredients. Very easy. This recipe is not low Fodmap. Swedish-Style Fishcakes, Roasted Baby Potatoes, Sprout Salad and Fresh Zingy Salsa – Jamie Oliver 30-minute Meal
This is a Jamie Oliver recipe which I have made low Fodmap. This was from his book, Jamie's 30-Minute Meals, so I tried to make it in 30 minutes. I got out all the ingredients and equipment, put on the oven and then started timing the making, and still it took 50 minutes. I had no issues with the process and worked as quickly as possible but I simply couldn't get it down to 30 minutes. I would love to hear from someone who has managed it. Chicken Skewers, Satay Sauce and Fiery Noodle Salad – Jaime Oliver 30-minute meals
This one of Jamie's 30-Minute Meals took almost an hour but that was the fault of our food processor which is a little too big for small amounts of ingredients like in the satay sauce for this dinner. It all stayed below the cutting blade and so didn't chop very well. I then tried the food blender which did a great job but it was almost impossible to get the thick sauce out. I guess I will need to get a smaller processor for such occasions. By the time I had photographed it, the meal was cold but the verdict was still good from the family. I also forgot to turn off the overhead lights so the photos are not great. This is not a low Fodmap recipe.
