A Simple Way of Life
On our way to my uncle’s fishing lodge and game farm on the Zambezi River in Zambia, we passed through a village in the middle of nowhere. It was dusty with people wandering about among the very strange (by our standards) shops and market stalls. (Sorry about the quality of the photos. I had to photograph photos since they were not digital.)

Broken Windows
We stopped to buy some produce, had several conversations with various villagers and then were on our way over bumpy, at times almost impassable roads on our trip to the lodge. Among the many stories my uncle was to tell us during that visit, he mentioned the village school which the government had decided to bless with glass in its previously open windows. Within a week, all the windows were broken. This is a good example of a government’s misguided efforts to help its people but also of the value of deciding yourself what you need and then applying some effort for the acquisition of it. The villagers hadn’t asked for the windows and hadn’t had to work for them and so they had no value for them.
My Gift
I feel all readers with IBS need my IBS Daily Journal (though it is your prerogative to disagree with me) and I thought about handing it out for free so you could finally have this one vital piece of equipment for eliminating your IBS symptoms.
But then I thought of that story above and of the research that shows that people don’t value what they get for free and that the higher the price, the more value they attribute to the item. I am going to ignore that last part of that research but I’m going to go with the first part and offer my IBS Daily Journal for the nominal amount of $2. So, it’s not completely free, but hopefully this makes you think twice about downloading it and then ignoring it, which is usually what happens to free books on Amazon. Few of them ever get read.
I’m not going to get rich from this – far from it – but you will be the richer for having a means of recording all the vital information – food eaten, symptoms, bowel movements, water drunk, sleep hours etc, – needed to start to get a handle on what is happening in your IBS world. This is your first step to turning your life around and getting well.
Get your $2 IBS Daily Journal by clicking on the big button below. This is my gift to you for being such a loyal reader. I want you to feel the joy of being free on IBS symptoms like I am.
By the way, I loved Zambia with all its quirkiness, friendly, colourful people and wide open spaces.

What a shame about the windows – so wasteful. That’s an excellent price for your book xx
I guess they didn’t see the need for them but it sure was a waste of money.
